Sunrise in Virginia
One of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen. A great sight to wake up to on new year's day. The photo was taken in western Virginia.

Peru
This photo was taken while I was in Peru this summer. While in Machu Picchu, the sunrises were amazing. The fog added a cool effect, allowing us to see the individual rays of light coming over the mountains. If you get a chance to go to Machu Picchu, take it!

Birthday Cupcake
Today, Brittany and I went to Georgetown cupcakes in Bethesda, MD. Although the cupcakes are pricey, they are VERY tasty. Definitely worth the price. Here is a photo I took of Brittany's Birthday Cupcake:

The Beginning
Just got my Nikon D5000. Excited, but not much time to take pictures this week. I'll have a little more time this weekend. The lens that I bought works great in low light (Nikon 50mm 1.8f with AF; thanks Noah Kim for the recommendation). Haven't used it outside yet, but certainly looking forward to it.
